چکیده

Abstract Background Emergence of fluoroquinolone resistance in gut pathogens is a cause concern. Resistant to quinolone mainly due the point mutations at quinolone-resistance determining regions (QRDR). The aim study was develop polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism assay (PCR-RFLP) detect QRDR gyrA and gyrB enteric pathogens. Methodology PCR-RFLP done for 83 region using HinfI 447 AcuI resistant susceptible products were also sequenced confirm presence restriction sites. Results In this study, technique developed Salmonella typhi Escherichia coli. A first its kind mutation enzyme AcuI. Restriction digestion resulted three bands S. isolates four seen sensitive isolates, while two E. coli isolates. Similarly, no This suggest that there ofE. coli, found Conclusion present could successfully fluoroquinolone-resistant can be efficiently used epidemiological studies instead cost-intensive sequencing method status multiple

Fluoroquinolone-resistant Escherichia coli, Indonesia

In a recent, population-based survey of 3,996 persons in Indonesia, fluoroquinolone (FQ)-resistant Escherichia coli was prevalent in the fecal flora of 6% of patients at hospital admission and 23% of patients at discharge, but not among healthy relatives or patients visiting primary healthcare centers (2%). Molecular typing showed extensive genetic diversity with only limited clonality among is...

A novel gyrB gene mutation in fluoroquinolone resistant clinical isolates of Mycobacterium tuberculosis

Methods A total of 100 ofloxacin resistant (OFX r) and 100 OFX sensitive (OFX s) isolates of M.tuberculosis isolates were consecutively selected from routine TB laboratory during 2012-2013. All the isolates were screened for phenotypic OFX r (>2μg/ml) by 1% proportion method and tested for minimal inhibitory concentration by absolute concentration method. Quinolone resistance determining region...

Molecular typing of fluoroquinolone resistant Escherichia coli isolates from patients undergoing prostate biopsy

Background: Escherichia coli (E. coli) is one of the most important infectious agents in patients undergoing prostate biopsy. It belongs to a large family of gram-negative rods, Enterobacteriaceae. This family includes members of the normal flora of the intestine that are only occasionally pathogenic. Recent considerations of rectal colonization with fluoroquinolone-resistant E. coli shows the ...

Significance of fluoroquinolone-resistant Escherichia coli in urinary tract infections.

Antibiotic-resistant urinary tract infections (UTIs) are on the rise. We investigated the recent emergence of representative resistant strains in patients diagnosed with UTIs at Kobe University Hospital between 2000 and 2006, focusing on resistant strains isolated from the urine of UTI patients, especially fluoroquinolone-resistant Escherichia coli (FQRE), multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aerugi...
